I'd been looking for the right element/character to finish this painting for a long time (over 20 years). It appeared when I was returning from a bike ride--a massive flock of Turkey Vultures over my house in Joshua Tree.I've seen them here before but got interested in learning more about them--quite interesting. The piece has a lot of connections with the environment: earth, water, sky, balance, and my early Neo Expressionist pursuit. It's 40x60 on canvas and was made with both oil and acrylic
