Brian was born in 1964 in Tacoma, Washington and grew up in Southern California. He now splits time between Huntington Beach and Joshua Tree. He is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach with a BA in Art. He worked as a graphic designer and screen printer several years before becoming a High School Art teacher which he did for 32 years. He has been making work all along the way.
His inspiration comes from the environment and his personal connections to places and people. You'll see a lot of influence from the desert landscape and man made structures on it. He's interested in paths, interiors and windows. He loves to mountain bike, hike and generally be outside where he finds lots of his source material.
